On November 30, 2024, 16 year old user Lynn6Thorex posted a fanart of dandadan characters if they were black. Many Japanese people were mad because they thought of it to be discriminatory and racist. Over the next 10 days, many people started to attack this girl for this fanart. A lot of people started accusing all black people of acting like this, which made many people start saying very discriminatory things about black people. There were some black people who were trying to save themselves by saying "Us africans are not like these black americans". Accounts with millions of followers were getting their followers to send her hate (ex. kangminjlee on twitter), so much so that she had to go private. The fanart got so much attention that one of the voice actors of the anime ended up making the fanart his profile picture. Then a lot of people started to see all of this hate and called people who were mad at it hypocrites because many Japanese people indulge in black culture. Others thought it was hypocritical because people in that same fandom were fine with nsfw being drawn of highschool teens.(OP note: I think it is so crazy how everybody went insane over this drawing like I could never get into anime because of how crazy some of yall are LMAO)
